This is the story of Kettle & Addy & it is very enjoyable! I like that there's not a lot of relationship drama. There is drama surrounding them both, with some strange things going on & she's in danger & he's got some emotional baggage. But for the most part this is the story about how they work through these things together, along with the Dixie Wardens MC. I like that the club is full of cops & EMTS & firefighters; that they're a law-abiding club and a family. Addy's a science teacher & has a bunch of tattoos, so I like that her character is different and not like any character I've read before. )

There are some editing issues (things sometimes switch from first person POV to third, which is distracting). There are some continuity issues and a couple of story threads seem to pop in & out randomly (also slightly distracting). But the story is really sweet and there's a lot of humor. All in all, it's a feel-good book & I'm looking forward to continuing with the series. )
Halligan To My Axe is all about Kettle the Six Foot Four Tattooed Mohawk Wearing Biker/Firefighter and Foxy Teacher Adeline, they make a perfect couple with lots of sexy time between the sheets. Their love for eachother will be tested to the extremely can they handle the flames ?? If you haven't read this story by Lani Lynn Vale then you are missing out. Trust me you will enjoy this story. Kettle was one that you got a brief glimpse of in the previous book. But, one thing was evident and that was he wanted what his friend Sebastian found with Baylee. Something he didn't think he would ever find, not with the pain and heartache he still carried with him. Then in walks Adeline into his life. From the first meeting they are drawn together, but a series of events make it so that the world was working against them. But once they finally come together they are ones that are just perfect for each other.
I wanted more of this couple that I hope that there is more of them to come in future books in this series.
Ok this one I laughed a pretty good bit throughout this book.

Kettle (Tiago) is Sebastian's best friend, coworker at the fire station and brother in the Dixie Warden MCs. He has had bad luck in his opinion his whole life. When he meets Adeline (Addy) he starts to feel things he hasn't in a long time ago. Addy has her own set of issues and has already been eyeing Kettle.

We get a front seat to Addy's funny personality as well as getting to know her family. We learn more about Kettle and more of the MC members. This book is a must read if you want action, love, heartache, family and humor.
This was a good read.

The greatest strength of this series? The characters. They are swoony, quirky, sarcastic, funny... The heroines are not doormats and the Heroes are alpha but not the annoyingly-overbearing kind. (Although I don't mind those either sometimes.) It's easy to fall in "really like" with them all.

I love how important family is to both Kettle and Adeline. Some super sad events happen to them both but seeing them overcome the bad and help each other heal was awesome. Their sort of courtship was cute and I liked how they didn't immediately jump into bed with one another, even if it was more of a bad timing type of thing. Because when they did... I loved it!

Wasn't totally pleased with Kettle's ex's happy ending. She popped up in the beginning of the book (established her total b****iness), wasn't there in the middle and then was matched up with that guy? A little weird.

We haven't even gotten to read much about Viddy's life but my heart already goes out to her. Her current guy sucks... BIG TIME. She doesn't seem like the type to just stay with a guy who acts like a total jerk, so I'm curious to learn more about her. Her and Adeline's banter and the little tricks they pull on one another are pretty funny! She gave her blind sister d*** lipstick? Hee hee.

The ending was fun, sweet and surprising!

Very much looking forward to book three in the series, Kevlar to My Vest! Trance and Viddy... YAY!!

*SIDE NOTE* I wish there was more MC in this MC romance read! Besides them being a big supportive family, you don't get too much into the club aspect of their lives. I want that!
Kettle was in a bit of a rut, he had his job and his MC but there is a part of him that wants what his best friend has even if he doesn't want to admit it. Then he meets Adeline, she is a breath of fresh air and sexual frustration rolled into one. Neither were looking for each other but they found each other none the less. Kettle has to let go of his past though and is holding in some truths about himself that Adeline doesn't know about, can he let her in to build a future they both desperately want.

I loved that the second book in the series was different than the first, the characters completely different and not formula. Kettle is a broody one, you get where he is coming from but you also want to shake him a bit. Adeline is lovely, hilarious, and a ball of fury. Had a lot of humor as well as laid the path to the next book. Exceptional.
